Registered Nurse – Nursing Resource Team

About the role

The Nursing Resource Team at Michael Garron Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to lead the Coordinated Care Team. This role blends advanced clinical expertise with strong leadership to plan, coordinate, and deliver patient‑centered care across multiple clinical settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead care planning and coordination for diverse patient populations.
• Collect, interpret, and act on clinical information to make nursing decisions.
• Deliver therapeutic nursing interventions, including respiratory and chest‑tube care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Work across hospital and off‑site locations, cross‑training to specialty areas as needed.
• Participate in unit quality initiatives and measurement programs.

Required profile

• Current RN registration with the CNO and up‑to‑date BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years recent medical‑surgical nursing experience (within the last 3 years).
• Strong leadership and ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to work in all health‑service areas, including off‑site settings.
• Interest or experience in Critical Care; hospital may provide Critical Care certification.

Required skills

• BLS (required); ACLS (asset).
• CNA certification (asset).
• Proficiency in tracheostomy care, suctioning, chest auscultation, and arterial blood gas interpretation.
• Knowledge of chest‑tube management and total parenteral nutrition (TPN) care.
• Medical‑surgical nursing competencies and critical‑care fundamentals.
