Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical) – Geriatric Medicine

About the role

The McGill University Department of Medicine invites applications for a full‑time Contract Academic Staff position as an Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical) in the Division of Geriatric Medicine. The role is based at the McGill University Health Centre and focuses on clinical teaching, research, and patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical care as a consultant geriatrician in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings across MUHC sites.
• Deliver both didactic and bedside teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows.
• For Clinician‑Investigator candidates, develop and lead a research program, publish in peer‑reviewed journals, and secure external funding (25‑50% of effort).
• Participate in academic committees, supervise trainees, and contribute to departmental service activities.

Required profile

• Medical degree with board certification or equivalent expertise in Geriatric Medicine.
• Eligibility for a clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical).
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and, for investigator track, a strong research record.
• Ability to work across multiple MUHC hospitals and on‑call schedules.
