Senior VDC Designer (BIM)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior VDC Designer to join our team in Vaughan. The role focuses on developing and optimizing engineering consultant designs into coordinated, fabricable, and installable virtual models using advanced BIM technologies. You will ensure systems meet code requirements, improve efficiency, and support project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Model 3D building systems and perform QA/QC for at least one discipline.
• Develop detailed 2D and 3D models and plans for mechanical systems and components.
• Assess project requirements and collaborate with engineers and project managers.
• Create and review final drawings for site installation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Optimize equipment layouts for mechanical rooms to maximize space and efficiency.
• Coordinate clash detection and resolution using BIM software.
• Communicate with cross‑functional teams to meet project requirements and resolve design conflicts.

Required profile

• 5+ years of Revit experience, preferably designing mechanical rooms.
• Post‑secondary diploma in Mechanical or Construction Technology or a related field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, heat transfer, equipment, and shop drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail, spatial awareness, and communication skills.
