Senior Tax Staff – Mobility & Expatriate Tax

About the role

EY’s People Advisory Services (PAS) Mobility practice is looking for a Senior Tax Staff to support Canadian and US cross‑border tax compliance and advisory for globally mobile employees and their employers. You will work on increasingly complex files, apply technical judgment across jurisdictions, and collaborate with experienced professionals in a supportive, team‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review complex Canadian and US personal income tax returns for inbound and outbound assignees.
• Identify appropriate filing positions, assess risk and technical implications.
• Advise clients on tax implications of cross‑border employment, compensation and mobility arrangements.
• Research technical tax matters and apply conclusions to compliance and advisory deliverables.
• Support mobility advisory engagements, including planning considerations and global coordination initiatives.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide constructive feedback.
• Utilize EY technology and standardized tools to improve efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience in Canadian and/or US personal taxation, preferably with expatriate or mobility exposure.
• Strong interest in global mobility and cross‑border personal taxation.
• Ability to analyze complex tax issues and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
