Senior Manager, Food and Retail Strategic Planning

About the role

This senior leadership position is responsible for shaping the strategic growth, financial performance, and customer experience of food services, retail programs, and catering operations across a diverse fleet and terminal network. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive innovation, and ensure offerings meet brand standards and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight and leadership to a multi‑disciplinary team, including both exempt and bargaining‑unit members.
• Manage the full lifecycle of product development and service delivery, from market analysis and concept development to vendor management and operational execution.
• Develop long‑term strategy for food, retail, and catering programs aligned with customer experience, operational performance, and financial goals.
• Identify growth opportunities, emerging trends, and customer needs to enhance onboard and terminal offerings.
• Lead business cases, feasibility studies, ROI assessments, capital investments, and system transformation projects.
• Analyze sales performance, margins, waste metrics, labour models, and operational data to drive informed decisions.
• Negotiate and manage lessee agreements, third‑party vendor contracts, and supplier relationships.
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience teams on strategic sourcing and program implementation.
• Prepare and deliver performance presentations and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
