Postdoctoral Fellow – Clinical Research in Exercise Oncology

About the role

The Cancer Exercise & Physiotherapy Lab at the University of British Columbia seeks a full‑time Postdoctoral Fellow to lead implementation and knowledge‑translation research on exercise programs for breast and colorectal cancer survivors. Working under Dr. Kristin Campbell, the fellow will contribute to two major projects aimed at expanding program reach and integrating physical activity into cancer care.

Key responsibilities

• Co‑develop and evaluate tailored referral strategies for the Breast Cancer Endocrine Fitness (BE‑FIT) program using the RE‑AIM framework.
• Lead the CO.21‑IMPACT initiative to implement structured exercise (CHALLENGE) for colorectal cancer patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across BC Cancer, community oncology networks, and supportive‑care organizations.
• Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative research, analyze data, and disseminate findings through publications and presentations.

Required profile

• PhD in exercise science, physiotherapy, public health, implementation science, or a related field.
• Experience in clinical research with cancer populations.
• Familiarity with implementation science frameworks, especially RE‑AIM.
• Strong ability to work independently and within interdisciplinary teams.
