Clinical Research Lab Coordinator

About the role

The Clinical Research Lab Coordinator will oversee the daily operations of Dr. Azar’s research laboratory, which focuses on innovative opioid agonist treatments and medical devices for patients with mental health and substance‑use disorders. This role combines team leadership, grant administration, and project coordination within a multidisciplinary academic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage laboratory staff, including hiring, onboarding, and performance oversight.
• Develop and submit grant proposals to secure research funding.
• Coordinate diverse research projects such as mobile‑app development for treatment compliance, randomized controlled trials, and youth prevention campaigns.
• Oversee budgeting, financial tracking, and resource allocation for the lab.
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external research groups.
• Support graduate and undergraduate students, faculty partners, and interns in their research activities.

Required profile

• Experience managing a research laboratory or similar scientific environment.
• Proven ability to write successful grant applications and manage research budgets.
• Strong organizational skills with a track record of coordinating multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with clinicians, researchers, and external partners.
