Peer Research Assistant – Digital Health Study

About the role
The Digital & Sexual Health Initiative at UBC and the BC Centre for Disease Control seeks a Peer Research Assistant to support the Digital Determinants of Health (DDoH) study. You will help explore how the shift to digital health services affects underserved populations.
Key responsibilities
- Promote the study in partnership with Ribbon Community and the research team.
- Recruit participants from diverse communities facing barriers to health services.
- Obtain informed consent and conduct qualitative interviews.
- Review, clean, and organize interview transcripts.
- Assist with basic data analysis and interpretation of findings.
- Complete required TCPS‑2 ethics training.
- Collaborate with the Research Manager, Peer Mentor, Postdoctoral Fellow, and community staff.
Required profile
- Interest in digital health and public health research.
- Ability to work respectfully with First Nations, Inuit, Métis, African, Caribbean, Black, 2SLGBTQ+, people who use drugs, incarcerated individuals, sex workers, and other marginalized groups.
- Strong communication skills for interviewing and community outreach.
- Willingness to work hybrid hours (average 14 hrs/week) and travel for training.

- Hourly compensation ranging from $26.67 to $31.73 CAD.
