Intermediate DevOps Specialist

About the role

The Intermediate DevOps Specialist joins MDA Space’s Satellite Operations team to bridge development and operations for the CHORUS satellite mission. You will design, build, and maintain automated pipelines that deliver software securely and reliably to production environments supporting satellite operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines integrating code commit, build, test, and deployment.
• Automate deployment of applications, databases, message queues (e.g., Kafka) and cloud services such as AWS Lambda, EKS, and managed services.
• Use infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) to provision and manage AWS resources for storage, networking, and compute.
• Configure and automate DNS, Public Key Infrastructure (certificates) and Active Directory services.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security and SecOps to embed static code analysis, vulnerability scanning and security controls into pipelines.
• Work with software developers to integrate test automation and ensure smooth release cycles.
• Continuously improve DevOps processes, tools and practices to meet evolving mission requirements.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience in DevOps or site reliability engineering.
• Strong collaboration skills with development, operations and security teams.
• Commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.

Required skills

• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
• Terraform and CloudFormation.
• AWS services (Lambda, EKS, managed services).
• Kafka or similar message‑queue systems.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
• DNS, PKI (certificate management) and Active Directory automation.
• Static code analysis and open‑source vulnerability scanning tools.
• Test automation integration.
