About the role

The Human Resources Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and front‑line support across all HR functions, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations. Working closely with the HR Manager and HR Generalist, the role covers the full employee life cycle, data accuracy, payroll assistance, and occasional front‑desk duties.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities, including job postings, interview scheduling, reference checks, and new‑hire documentation.
  • Support orientation and off‑boarding by preparing materials, collecting forms, and updating HR systems.
  • Maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy in the HRIS and personnel files.
  • Assist with benefits administration, leaves of absence, and employee program coordination.
  • Organise employee training logistics, track attendance, and keep records.
  • Handle employee communications, engagement initiatives, and HR compliance tasks such as policy updates and audits.
  • Serve as first point of contact for general HR inquiries and redirect as appropriate.
  • Support payroll preparation by verifying hours, reviewing employee changes, and ensuring documentation accuracy.
  • Approve vacation and time‑off requests, update HR systems, and coordinate scheduling conflicts with managers.
  • Provide front‑desk coverage, greeting visitors and answering calls as needed.

Required profile

  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in an HR support, HR Coordinator, or administrative role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Required skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Familiarity with payroll processes and time‑keeping systems.
