Hospitalist (Acute Inpatient Medicine)

About the role

Cariboo Memorial Hospital is seeking a Hospitalist to join its acute inpatient medicine team in Williams Lake. You will serve as the most responsible physician for complex medical patients, co‑manage surgical cases, and provide palliative care within a collaborative, community‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient care for 12‑16 patients per 8‑hour shift.
• Act as the most responsible physician for complex medical admissions.
• Co‑manage surgical patients and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Deliver palliative care services as needed.
• Collaborate closely with specialists, family physicians, and support staff.

• New graduates or experienced hospitalists with a passion for patient care.
• Commitment to teamwork, quality improvement, and rural community health.
• Flexibility for full‑time, part‑time, or locum arrangements.
• Interest in leadership development through Interior Health’s NAVIG8 program.

• Annual base salary of $336,168 CAD (approximately $200.10/hour).
• Up to 40% additional group contract incentives, MOCAP level 2, and after‑hours premiums.
