About the role

Cariboo Memorial Hospital is seeking a Hospitalist to join its acute inpatient medicine team in Williams Lake. The role involves acting as the most responsible physician for complex medical patients, co‑managing surgical cases, and providing palliative care within an 8‑hour shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive inpatient care to 12‑16 patients per shift.
• Serve as the most responsible physician for complex medical cases.
• Co‑manage surgical patients and coordinate with specialty teams.
• Provide palliative care and support end‑of‑life decision making.
• Document all clinical activities in the hospital’s electronic medical record system.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Required profile

• Medical degree with a valid licence to practice in British Columbia.
• Eligibility for MOCAP level 2 certification.
• Ability to work full‑time or flexible part‑time/locum schedules.
• Commitment to teamwork, patient safety, and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

• Annual base salary of $336,168 (approximately $200.10 per hour).
