Fleet & Assets Manager – Ottawa

About the role

The Fleet & Assets Manager leads the planning, procurement, maintenance and financial oversight of Transdev Ontario’s vehicle fleet and related facilities in Ottawa. Reporting to the Director, Fleet & Assets, the role requires strong multitasking abilities and a focus on optimizing asset utilization throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Assess vehicle replacement needs and negotiate parts, fluids, tools and services with vendors.
• Maintain and review maintenance schedules, coordinate shop and external garage work, and manage warranty and insurance processes.
• Collect, analyse and present fleet performance KPIs to senior management.
• Oversee the fleet services cost centre budget and actual results.
• Lead a team of licensed mechanics and administrative staff, ensuring compliance with health, safety and purchasing policies.

Required profile

• University or college education (or equivalent) with 5‑7 years of relevant experience.
• Valid Ontario G class driver’s licence and a clean driver abstract.
• Preferred 310T or combined 310S/310T licence.
• Clean criminal record check.
• ODP certification with air‑conditioning experience or willingness to obtain it.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience in light‑duty diesel repair.
• Experience in gasoline engine repair.
• ODP certification with A/C experience.
