About the role
The Events Concierge provides front‑counter and on‑site support for events, classes and functions held at the UBC Botanical Garden. Working part‑time on a casual basis, you will greet clients, coordinate with caterers and service providers, and ensure smooth set‑up and breakdown of events, often outside regular garden hours.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome and direct guests, caterers and service providers to appropriate locations.
- Assist clients with changes, troubleshoot basic event requirements, and enforce venue policies.
- Manage keys, lock up the facility after events, and oversee removal of client belongings.
- Drive visitor carts, organize assets (chairs, tables) and perform post‑event maintenance.
- Report any client specification changes to the Booking & Events Coordinator or Associate Director.
- Act independently, including contacting campus security or RCMP when needed.
Required profile
- Availability to work evenings and weekends during the May‑October season.
- Ability to work without direct supervision and make on‑site decisions.
- Strong customer‑service orientation and professional communication.
- Reliability in handling keys and securing the facility.

- Hourly compensation ranging from $19.43 to $25.90 CAD.
