Zone Medical Officer of Health – Public Health Physician

About the role

The Zone Medical Officer of Health (MOH) serves as a clinical expert in public health and preventive medicine, providing specialist medical consultation to physicians, health officials, and other stakeholders across the zone. Reporting to the Zone Lead, the MOH supports the delivery of population‑health services, disease prevention, and health‑equity initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a specialist medical consultant on patient and population public‑health issues.
• Lead control and surveillance of communicable diseases and environmental health threats.
• Respond to public‑health emergencies and coordinate outbreak detection and control.
• Promote community health, health‑equity, and the social determinants of health.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external health stakeholders.
• Provide on‑call coverage and support as required.

Required profile

• Qualified physician with expertise in public health and preventive medicine.
• Experience in communicable‑disease control, environmental health, and emergency response.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with health agencies, physicians, and community partners.
• Commitment to advancing health equity and population‑health outcomes.
