Youth Initiatives HUB Director - Grand Prairie

About the role

Athletes in Action (a division of Power To Change) is a ministry that helps people know Jesus and experience his power to change the world through sport. The HUB Director works with the Regional Director to implement Action Camps, Action Clubs and other community-based sports initiatives in the Grand Prairie HUB and surrounding areas. A HUB is a geographic area containing several camp and/or club programs. The position is funded by Ministry Partner Development, which builds a team providing financial and prayer support for salary and ministry expenses, including benefits coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and track relationships with local churches, community sports groups, program coaches and volunteers
• Help establish and maintain schedules of Action Camps and Action Clubs, coordinating with the Regional Director on implementation
• Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, mentoring and spiritual growth of volunteers and coaches
• Increase awareness and engagement of people and groups with AIA, attending local events such as camp days, missions conferences and ministerial meetings
• Help the Regional Director initiate fundraising opportunities in the Grand Prairie region to supplement coach and program budgets
• Attend regional coaches training each June and visit each week of camp for at least one full camp day per week

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent (preferred, not required)
• Ministry experience in church, para-church and/or sports ministry (preferred, not required)
• Experience coaching youth sport at some level (minor associations, junior/senior high school, college/university)
• Deep relationship with Jesus and commitment to AIA's leadership methods and ministry models
• Ability to relate well to churches, para-church organizations, athletic organizations and administrators
