Youth Drop-In Team Lead

About the role

Seabird Island is seeking a Youth Drop-In Team Lead to design and run culturally safe, inclusive drop‑in evenings for youth aged 12‑18. Reporting to the Youth and Young Adults Program Manager, you will create a welcoming environment that supports personal growth, safety, and community connection.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and oversee a weekly drop‑in program (one weeknight and one weekend night) featuring cooking, recreational, movie, and learning activities.
• Plan and facilitate hands‑on sessions, sports, film screenings, and workshops that reflect cultural teachings and life‑skill topics.
• Collaborate with the Schools’ Out Program and other youth initiatives to align goals and resources.
• Promote the program through school visits, community events, and social media outreach.
• Build trusting relationships with youth and families, identify at‑risk participants, and connect them to support services.
• Manage schedules, transportation logistics, and safety protocols for all activities.

Required profile

• Experience working with youth aged 12‑18 in an educational or community setting.
• Demonstrated ability to lead culturally informed programs and activities.
• Strong outreach and relationship‑building skills with youth, families, and community partners.
• Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive environment that respects Indigenous knowledge and traditions.
