Behavioral Consultant

About the role

Seabird Island is seeking a Behavioral Consultant to provide culturally informed, evidence‑based behavioral support for children aged 0‑6 and their families. Reporting to the Manager of Early Years Support and Wellness, the consultant will develop and oversee individualized intervention plans and collaborate with caregivers and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor individualized behavior intervention plans for young children.
• Guide and mentor the interventionist in evidence‑based strategies, ensuring consistency across home, school and community settings.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, educators and external partners to align interventions with cultural values and developmental goals.
• Track progress, document outcomes and report updates to management and families.
• Participate in team meetings, training and program reviews to maintain best practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Psychology, Behaviour Analysis, Social Work or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience delivering behavior intervention services.
• Strong understanding of evidence‑based behavioral strategies and child development principles.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Commitment to Indigenous cultural competency and community values.
