Yard Technician

About the role

Geotech Drilling is seeking a motivated Yard Technician to support loading and unloading of drilling equipment across Western Canada. The role involves daily yard tasks, material handling, and preparation of equipment for field projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine yard clean‑up and general labor tasks.
• Move, carry, and haul materials and inventory using hand‑held tools and forklifts.
• Fill requisitions for project work and sort, inspect, and clean equipment for upcoming jobs.
• Organise outgoing loads securely, verify quality, and report any defects to the Yard Foreman.
• Follow all safety procedures to protect personnel and company property.
• Maintain communication with yard technicians and operations staff and prioritize tasks to meet project timelines.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Strong ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when needed.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with drilling methodologies (e.g., coring, auguring, air rotary) is an asset.
• Knowledge of drilling equipment, tooling and consumables is a plus.
• Valid Class 5/7 (N) driver’s licence.
