Workers' Compensation Lost Time Adjuster - California

About the role

We are seeking a Workers’ Compensation Lost Time Adjuster to manage a caseload of California workers’ compensation indemnity cases from start to finish. The role involves close communication with clients, producers, employers and injured workers, ensuring timely benefit administration and high‑quality claims management.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct investigations to determine AOE/COE, including 24‑hour 3‑point contact with employee, employer and medical provider.
• Establish and maintain accurate reserves based on probable outcomes.
• Authorize medical care, issue indemnity benefits and manage legal aspects of claims.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients, producers, employers and injured workers.
• Determine settlement values and drive cases toward appropriate closure.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• California workers’ compensation experience; multiple years handling indemnity and legal claims.
• WCCA or WCCP designation preferred; self‑insured license preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑changing environment.
• Excellent organizational, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills
