Will & Estate Consultant – Wealth Management

About the role

As a Will & Estate Consultant within RBC Wealth Management Services, you will partner with Investment Advisors to deliver comprehensive estate planning advice to high‑net‑worth clients. Your expertise will bridge legal, tax, and financial considerations, enabling seamless implementation of tailored solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct client interview sessions and produce detailed summary letters outlining advice discussed.
• Participate in client and prospect seminars alongside advisors.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external estate‑planning professionals.
• Stay current on relevant legislation, policy, and risk‑management issues.
• Identify new business and referral opportunities for RBC Financial Group.
• Coordinate actions arising from interviews, working with various consultants.
• Maintain accurate records of activities and results.

Required profile

• Canadian Law Degree and called to the bar in at least one Canadian province or territory.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with advanced knowledge of Canadian wills, estate and trust legislation and related tax rules.
• Fluency in English and business‑level Cantonese and/or Mandarin.
• Good knowledge of insurance products used as estate‑planning tools.
• Advanced understanding of common law related to wills, estates and trusts.
• Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Nice‑to‑have: knowledge of civil law, cross‑border planning, STEP membership, and additional estate‑trust experience.
