Weighing Technician

About the role

MSALABS is seeking a detail‑oriented Weighing Technician to join its geochemistry laboratory at the head office in Langley, BC. The role supports the laboratory’s analytical workflow by performing precise weighing tasks and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform geochemical weighing according to documented SOPs.
• Oversee the weighing team’s daily safety, production and performance.
• Maintain daily balance verification and production records.
• Train new team members on weighing procedures.
• Coordinate with digestion, specialty assay, and other departments to maximise productivity.
• Report laboratory issues to the Geochem Supervisor.
• Calculate daily weighing production and assist with monthly CRM inventory counts.
• Support ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 audits.
• Organise and schedule cleanliness of the weighing workspace.
• Perform additional duties as required by management.

Required profile

• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Diploma in Chemical Sciences/Technology or equivalent experience.
• 1‑2 years experience in a wet‑chemistry preparation facility preferred.
• Physically fit to meet the job’s inherent requirements.
