Water & Wastewater Technical Lead

About the role

The client, an established engineering and environmental consulting firm, is seeking a Water & Wastewater Technical Lead to design and deliver water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collection systems for municipal, First Nations and private sector projects across Ontario.

Key responsibilities

• Design water and wastewater treatment infrastructures and develop master plans for municipalities, First Nations and private clients.
• Prepare conceptual and detailed designs, calculations, layouts and specifications.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate interdisciplinary design teams.
• Contribute to technical proposals, feasibility studies and engineering standards.
• Mentor junior staff and provide technical and non‑technical project guidance.

Required profile

• Civil or Environmental Engineering degree with at least five years of relevant experience.
• Working towards or registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
• Strong time‑management, communication and ability to travel to remote locations.
• Valid Ontario G‑class driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Water and wastewater treatment facility design.
• Pump station, distribution and collection system design.
• Hydraulic calculations and distribution system modeling.
• Process piping, pump sizing and equipment sizing.
• Knowledge of Canadian and Ontario design codes.
• Project management, budgeting and scheduling.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
