Truck Driver

About the role

Milestone Services Ltd. is seeking a reliable truck driver to join its long‑haul team in Abbotsford, BC. The role involves transporting dry bulk, flat‑bed and refrigerated loads while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer‑based routing tools to minimise fuel use and emissions.
• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy, loading and unloading goods safely.
• Operate straight‑ and articulated‑truck equipment for dry bulk, flat‑bed and refrigerated cargo.
• Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections of tires, lights, brakes, cold‑storage units and other vehicle systems.
• Communicate with central dispatch, record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Secure cargo with tarping and ensure its safety throughout the journey.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 1–2 years of long‑haul driving experience.
• Physically demanding work with ability to handle items up to 23 kg.
• Flexibility, good judgement and ability to work as a team player.

Required skills

• Valid Class 1 (or A) commercial driver’s licence.
• Proficiency with GPS navigation and computer routing systems.
• Ability to operate straight and articulated trucks, including dry bulk, flat‑bed and refrigerated configurations.
