Truck Driver

About the role

RJ Transport is seeking a full‑time, permanent Truck Driver to join its team in Abbotsford, BC. You will operate both straight and articulated trucks, delivering goods across various locations while ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer systems to minimise fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Load, unload, tarp, and secure cargo, recording cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel usage.
• Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections, including brake adjustments, tire checks, lights, and cold‑storage equipment.
• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy, handling manual‑transmission vehicles.
• Conduct emergency roadside repairs and report information to central dispatch.

Required profile

• Valid Class 1 (or A) driver’s licence with Air Brakes endorsement.
• Willingness to work evenings, mornings, days, weekends and on‑the‑road schedules.
• No prior experience required – training will be provided.

Required skills

• Proficiency with GPS navigation and route‑planning software.
• Ability to operate manual‑transmission trucks.
• Knowledge of air‑brake systems and routine vehicle inspections.
