About the role
Blueray Transport Ltd is seeking a reliable truck driver to transport goods across British Columbia. The role involves operating straight or articulated trucks, planning routes, and ensuring cargo safety while supporting the company’s green initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and adjust routes using GPS and computer equipment to minimise fuel use and emissions.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo, including tarping for protection.
- Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections of vehicle systems, brakes, tires, lights and cold‑storage equipment.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs and brake adjustments as needed.
- Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Communicate with central dispatch and relay information promptly.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 1 to less than 7 months of relevant driving experience.
- Valid AZ class licence with Air Brakes endorsement and Class 1/1F/A licence for semi‑trailer trucks.
- Familiarity with driver logbook documentation.
Required skills
- Proficient use of GPS navigation systems.
- Vehicle inspection and maintenance knowledge.
- Ability to perform emergency roadside repairs.
