Thrift Donations Associate

About the role

Join the Thrift team at Beacon Community Services and help create a welcoming experience for customers and donors. You will screen, accept, sort, price and stock donations while providing excellent service to volunteers and shoppers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean and inviting donation depot for customers, staff and volunteers.
• Accept, sort and price sellable items according to Donation Safety Guidelines, politely declining non‑acceptable items.
• Prepare deliveries for Brentwood Bay and Victoria shops and transport items between Sidney locations using a company van.
• Keep retail displays attractive and organized, and manage daily garbage and recycling removal.
• Support volunteers, build positive relationships and provide clear, friendly communication.

Required profile

• Class 5 driver’s licence preferred but not required.
• Customer‑service experience considered an asset.

Required skills

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lb and remain on feet for the entire shift.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing tasks and stay professional in stressful situations.
