Technology Infrastructure Specialist

About the role

The Department of Education in Yukon is seeking a Technology Infrastructure Specialist for a term position ending in May 2028. This senior‑level role will provide technical leadership across the territory’s education‑focused IT environment, ensuring reliable network, system, and service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, configure, test, document, and implement network, server, and service components.
• Lead multiple improvement and upgrade projects for networks, systems, and cloud services.
• Provide operational support, technical advice, and fault investigation for critical infrastructure.
• Maintain Active Directory, email platforms, internet applications, and database services.
• Manage backup, disaster‑recovery, and asset‑management processes.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary diploma or degree in computer science or a related field.
• Proven experience leading and managing IT projects.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting complex network infrastructures.
• Background in IT system administration, including server management and cloud environments.
• Experience in an educational institution is an asset.
