About the role
The Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) at McGill University seeks a Teaching Assistant for the Fall 2026 course "Literature for Young Adults" (EDES 366-001). This part‑time, fixed‑term position supports the instructor and students throughout the semester.
Key responsibilities
- Marking and grading assignments, quizzes, and exams.
- Preparing and organizing course materials.
- Assisting students with learning activities and answering queries.
- Leading discussion sessions and supervising projects.
- Providing constructive feedback on presentations and coursework.
- Attending weekly class sessions (Thursday, 5:35‑8:25 PM).
Required profile
- Graduate (master’s or PhD) student enrolled in a McGill graduate program for the Fall 2026 term.
- Familiarity with the course content on young adult literature.
- Fluent written and spoken English; French proficiency is an asset.
- Eligibility to work in Canada and willingness to work on the Montreal campus.
Required skills
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to communicate in French (asset).
What we offer
- Hourly compensation of $38.46 CAD.
- 60 hours of work over the term (August 17 – December 18 2026).
- Experience in university teaching and student mentorship.
