Teaching Assistant for Introduction to Financial Accounting (MGCR 211)

About the role

The Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University is seeking two Teaching Assistants for the Introduction to Financial Accounting course (MGCR 211) for the Fall 2026 term. The role supports the instructor by preparing course materials, leading tutorials, holding office hours, and supervising grading.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare assignments, solutions, worksheets, and formula sheets for the course.
• Conduct tutorial sessions and hold regular office hours to assist students.
• Assist with grading of assignments, exams, and other assessments.
• Coordinate with the course instructor to ensure smooth delivery of course content.

Required profile

• Successfully completed “Introduction to Financial Accounting” and “Management Accounting” with an A grade.
• Enrolled in or recently completed a graduate program related to financial or managerial accounting is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic financial and managerial accounting concepts.

Required skills

• Knowledge of financial accounting principles.
• Knowledge of managerial accounting principles.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation of $37.34 CAD.
• Approximately 146.25 work hours over the term (August 30 – December 12, 2026).
