Tax Specialist – Canadian Tax Compliance

About the role

Cogeco Communications is seeking a Tax Specialist to manage Canadian tax compliance and support tax planning, reorganizations, and strategic initiatives across the group. You will play a key part in optimizing tax positions and improving departmental processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual tax provisions and supporting documentation for consolidated financial statements.
• Prepare and file Canadian corporate tax returns for Cogeco entities.
• Develop contemporaneous transfer‑pricing documentation.
• Manage tax audits and proactively identify tax‑related risks.
• Support tax planning, reorganizations and entity structuring to optimize group tax outcomes.
• Provide operational tax advice to managers and collaborate on special projects and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Accounting or Finance.
• Master’s degree, Graduate Diploma in Taxation or CPA In‑Depth Tax Course.
• 5–7 years of relevant Canadian tax experience.
• In‑depth knowledge of Canadian tax legislation.
• Bilingual (English/French) with ability to work with stakeholders outside Quebec.
