Tax Advisor & Preparer

About the role

FBC is seeking a Tax Advisor & Preparer to join its Grande Prairie team. This hybrid position combines on‑site client visits with office work, supporting small‑business members across a range of industries by delivering tailored tax strategies and related financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file T1 and T2 tax returns for farms, small businesses, and corporations.
• Provide accurate tax and accounting advice that minimizes short‑ and long‑term tax liabilities.
• Identify member needs and refer them to FBC specialists such as bookkeeping, payroll, legal, and financial planning services.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with members, encouraging referrals and long‑term engagement.
• Participate in community events to increase visibility and strengthen member connections.
• Maintain precise records of all member interactions and services delivered.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Experience preparing tax returns for farms, small businesses, and corporations.
• Valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration, and reliable vehicle for daily travel to urban and remote locations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software – Taxprep.
• Experience using accounting software – Xero.
• Knowledge of iFirm (considered an asset).
