Tax Advisor & Preparer (Hybrid, Travel Required)

About the role

The Tax Advisor & Preparer works directly with FBC members to understand their financial situation and deliver tailored tax strategies that minimise short‑ and long‑term tax liabilities. This hybrid position involves daily travel to members’ businesses—both urban and remote—and remote work as needed, reporting occasionally to the Kelowna office.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate tax and accounting advice to members.
• Collect member information and prepare T1 (individual) and T2 (corporate) tax returns.
• Build and maintain strong relationships, encouraging referrals and long‑term engagement.
• Identify member needs and connect them with other specialists within FBC.
• Maintain accurate records of all member interactions and services provided.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a tax preparation or accounting firm.
• Experience preparing tax returns for farms, small businesses, individuals and corporations.
• Client‑focused mindset with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration and a reliable vehicle for daily travel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software such as Taxprep.
• Experience using accounting software Xero.
• Familiarity with iFirm (considered an asset).
