Survey Assistant – Field Operations in Swift Current, SK

About the role

Join a safety‑first company as a Survey Assistant working in the beautiful outdoors of Swift Current and Maple Creek, SK. You will support field crews, handle equipment, and ensure projects stay on schedule while gaining hands‑on experience in geomatics and surveying.

Key responsibilities

• Report to work on time and prepared for each shift.
• Assist the Crew Chief with daily tasks and project deliverables.
• Track, maintain, and organize tools, equipment, and materials on‑site and in crew vehicles.
• Support a positive team atmosphere and act as a company ambassador.
• Complete mandatory safety training and follow all client, OH&S, and company safety protocols.
• Participate in emergency response planning, hazard assessments, job safety analyses, and daily tailgate meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field (preferred but not required).
• Previous experience in surveying or outdoor field work.
• Willingness to travel regularly and respond to situations outside normal hours.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean abstract and background check.
• First Aid, H2S, and CSTS safety training or willingness to obtain them.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment drug and alcohol screening.
