Summer Academy Manager

About the role

The McGill Summer Academy Manager leads the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of the McGill Summer Academy (MSA) programs. Reporting to the Associate Director of Recruitment, the manager ensures a high‑quality, safe and seamless experience for staff, facilitators and registrants.

Key responsibilities

• Design and schedule workshop topics, recruit and coordinate qualified facilitators.
• Oversee all logistics including transportation, accommodation, facilities, catering and on‑ and off‑campus activities.
• Develop, monitor and report on the annual MSA budget, negotiate with vendors and control expenses.
• Recruit, train and supervise regular and casual staff supporting the academy.
• Present MSA information and McGill undergraduate offerings at recruitment events, fairs and virtual sessions.
• Collaborate with faculty to create new programs or update existing curricula.

Required profile

• Proven experience in program or event management within an educational setting.
• Strong organizational and supervisory skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, faculty and external partners.
• Ability to work under the direction of senior leadership and represent the university at public events.
