Student Front End Developer Internship (Fall 2026)

About the role

Join Sun Life’s Mobile and Front End Chapter as a Student Front End Developer. You will work on client‑facing web applications within an agile, cross‑functional team, gaining hands‑on experience with modern front‑end technologies while contributing to real‑world projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and enhance existing React single‑page applications.
• Write unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with scrum masters, back‑end developers, UX designers, and testers during sprint ceremonies.
• Participate in planning, estimation, design, development, and testing activities.
• Apply web accessibility standards and use accessibility testing tools.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent program, graduating Dec 2027 or later.
• Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and a willingness to learn.
• Self‑motivated with a client‑focused mindset.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS/SCSS and JavaScript (ES6).
• Familiarity with React.js and TypeScript (bonus).
• Understanding of Webpack, XML/JSON and Bootstrap.
• Exposure to version control (Git, Bitbucket) and Agile/Scrum processes.
• Interest in design systems (e.g., Storybook) and AI‑assisted development tools.
