About the role
Skywise, part of Airbus, is looking for a Technical Lead to anchor the engineering effort for its C++ and algorithm‑heavy applications. You will provide technical direction, improve code performance, and mentor a team delivering crew scheduling and flight planning solutions used by leading airlines.
Key responsibilities
- Define architectural direction, evaluate technical trade‑offs and manage technical debt for C++ and algorithmic development.
- Identify bottlenecks, lead deep refactoring of legacy C++ code, and drive peak system performance.
- Reverse‑engineer complex legacy scheduling algorithms to maintain and enhance critical aviation functionality.
- Deliver complex features from design through deployment, aligning technical work with Skywise’s business goals.
- Lead code reviews, enforce secure high‑quality standards, and champion AI‑assisted engineering practices.
- Mentor junior and intermediate developers, fostering a collaborative and modern engineering culture.
Required profile
- 7+ years of professional software development experience with C++ and complex algorithms.
- Proven track record of technical leadership, decision‑making and guiding software teams.
- Hands‑on experience in code optimization, performance tuning and refactoring large codebases.
- Strong debugging skills in live production environments and experience with relational databases (SQL).
- Excellent communication ability to convey architectural concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in English.
