Technical Lead – C++ & Algorithm Development

About the role

Skywise, part of Airbus, is looking for a Technical Lead to anchor the engineering effort for its C++ and algorithm‑heavy applications. You will provide technical direction, improve code performance, and mentor a team delivering crew scheduling and flight planning solutions used by leading airlines.

Key responsibilities

• Define architectural direction, evaluate technical trade‑offs and manage technical debt for C++ and algorithmic development.
• Identify bottlenecks, lead deep refactoring of legacy C++ code, and drive peak system performance.
• Reverse‑engineer complex legacy scheduling algorithms to maintain and enhance critical aviation functionality.
• Deliver complex features from design through deployment, aligning technical work with Skywise’s business goals.
• Lead code reviews, enforce secure high‑quality standards, and champion AI‑assisted engineering practices.
• Mentor junior and intermediate developers, fostering a collaborative and modern engineering culture.

Required profile

• 7+ years of professional software development experience with C++ and complex algorithms.
• Proven track record of technical leadership, decision‑making and guiding software teams.
• Hands‑on experience in code optimization, performance tuning and refactoring large codebases.
• Strong debugging skills in live production environments and experience with relational databases (SQL).
• Excellent communication ability to convey architectural concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in English.
