Stockkeeper – Operational Services at Calgary Remand Centre

About the role

The Calgary Remand Centre is seeking a Stockkeeper to support secure handling of offender property, manage inventory, and assist with fleet operations. This full‑time, on‑site position works within a 24/7 correctional environment and requires interaction with inmates and correctional officers.

Key responsibilities

• Securely handle offender property, goods, money and purchase transport tickets.
• Distribute inmate clothing to units and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Operate a 5‑ton truck in a loading dock/shipping environment.
• Assist with fleet management, including routine maintenance, tire changes and detailing with local automotive shops.
• Interact professionally with inmates, correctional officers and other centre staff while performing duties.

Required profile

• High school diploma plus at least one year of related experience in stock keeping or warehouse work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work day, night, weekend and on‑call shifts.
• Direct contact with offenders and reliable personal transportation.
• Willingness to undergo a fingerprint‑based criminal record check.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience operating a 5‑ton truck.
• Basic vehicle maintenance skills such as tire changes and detailing.
