Staff Accountant (CPA Student) – Assurance & Advisory

About the role

Join the Assurance & Advisory team at Baker Tilly as a Staff Accountant while completing your CPA Professional Education Program. You will work on a variety of assurance and tax engagements for owner‑managed businesses, developing a deep understanding of client operations and contributing to financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform assurance and tax engagements for diverse, owner‑managed businesses.
• Prepare compilations, corporate and personal tax returns, and supporting working papers.
• Assist clients with financial reporting and identify value‑adding opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, team members, and partners.
• Collaborate within cross‑functional teams while managing assigned work independently.
• Participate in special projects and other engagements as assigned by senior staff and partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration with an accounting/finance major.
• Eligibility to enroll in the CPA Professional Education Program.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills.
• Motivated, detail‑oriented with a strong work ethic.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Caseware/Caseview.
• Knowledge of TaxPrep.
