Sonic Driller – On‑Call Fixed‑Term Position

About the role

Join Geotech Drilling, a leading geotechnical drilling company in western Canada, as a Sonic Driller on a fixed‑term, on‑call basis. You will operate advanced drilling rigs, ensure high‑quality sampling, and support project delivery across various sites.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor pressure gauges, feed and weight indicators, and assess return material characteristics.
• Apply appropriate sampling techniques to meet client and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate records as required by clients or the company.
• Operate and troubleshoot drill rigs and ancillary equipment such as trucks, pumps, heaters, compressors, and mud recirculation systems.
• Supervise the Drill Assistant and crew to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Ensure the Drill Assistant keeps equipment, supplies, and tooling organized.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
• 3–5 years of experience in sonic drilling.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair small mechanical equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.

Required skills

• Sonic drilling operation.
• Instrument monitoring (pressure gauges, feed/weight indicators).
• Operation of drill rigs and ancillary equipment (trucks, pumps, compressors, mud systems).
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
