About the role
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to lead a newly established team within Mastercard’s Fraud Platform. The manager will own the technical direction, drive architectural decisions and help build next‑generation fraud‑prevention capabilities for a global payment network.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to evolve the Fraud Platform architecture into a microservice‑driven, cloud and on‑premises solution.
- Partner with business and product owners to prioritize enhancements and influence strategic decisions.
- Manage, grow and recruit a multidisciplinary software development team, including engineers, test engineers, analysts and scrum masters.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, quality and operational excellence, offering coaching and feedback to maintain high performance.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a software engineer with a strong Java background and a track record of moving into engineering leadership.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, messaging systems and cloud services, especially in high‑volume, low‑latency environments.
- Expertise in defining and using operational metrics for performance, availability and business outcomes.
- Experience scaling and developing engineering teams, including hiring and talent development.
- Prior exposure to financial services, payments or fraud domains is preferred.
