Software Engineer Intern

About the role

Stem Health is seeking a motivated Software Engineer Intern to join its technology team for a 4‑month term. You will contribute to building and enhancing both internal and member‑facing products that power the company’s innovative primary‑care experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship features for portals, care‑coordination tools, scheduling systems, clinical workflow integrations, and dashboards.
• Write clean, well‑tested code for front‑end and back‑end components, adapting to project needs.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand‑ups as a full‑member of the engineering team.
• Build and maintain integrations with third‑party platforms such as EHR/EMR systems, payment providers, and communication services.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs, contribute to data pipelines, and ensure reliable, secure data flow.
• Assist with cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and environment configuration.
• Optionally contribute to AI‑enabled internal tools, including large language model integrations and workflow automation.

Required profile

• Current student or recent graduate with strong technical abilities.
• Product‑mindset and interest in building software for a high‑stakes, real‑world environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an agile team.

Required skills

• Experience with RESTful API development.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure concepts.
• Understanding of deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes.
• Exposure to AI‑enabled tooling or large language model APIs.
• Full‑stack development experience (front‑end and back‑end).
