Software Engineer II

About the role

As a Software Engineer II at Diligent you will build and operate the core services that power the Diligent One Platform. You will own services end‑to‑end, from architecture and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and on‑call support.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement secure, scalable backend services using AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, SQS, API Gateway) with an event‑driven approach.
• Own production services: participate in on‑call rotations, monitor health, and resolve reliability or performance issues.
• Develop infrastructure as code with AWS CDK and champion CI/CD best practices for low‑risk continuous delivery.
• Design, document, and maintain well‑structured RESTful APIs, ensuring clear contracts and versioning.
• Write comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, end‑to‑end) as an integral part of development.
• Contribute to architectural discussions, document decisions, and use AI tools responsibly to accelerate coding and debugging.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile, backend‑focused environment.
• Strong understanding of backend fundamentals, request lifecycles, data persistence, and error handling.
• Experience with Node.js/TypeScript and SQL databases.
• Practical experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS, and core managed services.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code concepts.
