Software Engineer – Fulfillment

About the role

Lyft is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to join the Fulfillment group within Marketplace. You will help design and build the systems that determine which rides can be offered to riders and ensure those offers are reliably fulfilled.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to roadmap and architecture decisions based on technology and business needs.
• Write well‑crafted, well‑tested, readable, and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge.
• Build features from technical specifications through to production deployment.
• Proactively resolve incidents and support ongoing reliability.
• Collaborate across product, data science, and analytics teams to unblock blockers and achieve results.
• Share expertise through brown‑bag sessions and tech talks.

Required profile

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong grasp of object‑oriented programming.
• Experience designing, debugging, and operating fault‑tolerant, highly available distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Buildkite, CircleCI, or TeamCity.
