Software Developer – Developer Platform

About the role

Verily Health is seeking a Software Developer to join its Developer Platform team. You will help build cloud‑native, self‑service infrastructure that supports over 600 developers, enabling a fast, secure, and delightful development experience.

Key responsibilities

• Own the implementation of significant platform capabilities or feature sets.
• Design and develop solutions using cloud‑native open‑source components such as Kubernetes, VSCode, Backstage, and Terraform, as well as cutting‑edge AI.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross‑functional team members.
• Drive high‑quality execution, ensuring best practices in code health, monitoring, frequent releases, and reliable CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and secure production services.
• Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, system design, and analytical debugging.
• Excellent communication skills for feature discussions, issue investigation, and stakeholder updates.

Required skills

• Programming languages: Go, Python, TypeScript.
• Cloud platforms: Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, Azure.
• Tools & frameworks: GitHub Actions, VSCode, Kubernetes, Backstage, Terraform.
• Experience with microservices, DevSecOps, continuous integration, and release management.
• Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) for business solutions is a plus.

What we offer

• Base salary range CAD $120,500 – $136,000 per year.
