About the role

Huawei Canada is seeking a Security Researcher to join its Digital Trust Lab. The role focuses on advancing authentication and authorization mechanisms for endpoint devices and contributing to Huawei’s product security portfolio.

Key responsibilities

Research and analyze authentication and authorization mechanisms in endpoint devices.
Design, prototype, and evaluate innovative security technologies for Huawei products.
Generate insights on technology trends in academia and industry.
Collaborate with global research labs and product teams to translate research into real‑world solutions.

Required profile

PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
Deep knowledge of authentication and authorization frameworks (e.g., OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, FIDO2, OAuth 2.0, Kerberos, NTLM).
Strong understanding of cryptography, mobile/desktop application security, and multi‑factor authentication.

Required skills

Programming proficiency in C++, C, Java, or Python.
Experience with machine learning, deep learning, and AI agent protocols (A2A, MCP, ANP, AP2).
Expertise in symmetric‑key cryptography (block ciphers, MAC, authenticated encryption) and public‑key cryptography (digital signatures, key establishment).
