About the role
Huawei Canada is seeking a Security Researcher to join its Digital Trust Lab. The role focuses on advancing authentication and authorization mechanisms for endpoint devices and contributing to Huawei’s product security portfolio.
Key responsibilities
- Research and analyze authentication and authorization mechanisms in endpoint devices.
- Design, prototype, and evaluate innovative security technologies for Huawei products.
- Generate insights on technology trends in academia and industry.
- Collaborate with global research labs and product teams to translate research into real‑world solutions.
Required profile
- PhD in Computer Science/Engineering or a Master’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Deep knowledge of authentication and authorization frameworks (e.g., OpenID Connect, SAML 2.0, FIDO2, OAuth 2.0, Kerberos, NTLM).
- Strong understanding of cryptography, mobile/desktop application security, and multi‑factor authentication.
Required skills
- Programming proficiency in C++, C, Java, or Python.
- Experience with machine learning, deep learning, and AI agent protocols (A2A, MCP, ANP, AP2).
- Expertise in symmetric‑key cryptography (block ciphers, MAC, authenticated encryption) and public‑key cryptography (digital signatures, key establishment).
