Skilled Labourer – Construction Site Support

About the role

Castle Rock Enterprises is seeking a Skilled Labourer to support sewer, water and civil construction projects across Whitehorse. The role involves assisting pipe crews, equipment operators and supervisors with daily site activities while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the foreman and crew to install pipe and utilities according to project specifications.
• Assist equipment operators by spotting, signaling and supporting excavation activities.
• Shovel gravel, sand and soil for trenching, pipe bedding and backfilling.
• Operate compactors such as plate packers and jumping jacks to achieve proper soil compaction.
• Maintain site cleanliness, handle tools and materials, and use the company vehicle for site travel or deliveries.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a labourer or helper.
• Class 5 driver’s licence held in Canada for at least three years and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Commitment to safety, reliable attendance and punctuality.

Required skills

• Operation of small compaction equipment (plate packers, jumping jacks).
• Spotting and signaling for equipment operators during excavation.
