Sessional Instructor – Advanced Children’s Literature

About the role

The Department of English at the University of Calgary seeks qualified scholars to teach ENGL 487 – Advanced Studies in Children’s Literature during the Fall 2026 term. This is a part‑time, in‑person teaching appointment scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and facilitate discussions for ENGL 487.
• Prepare course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with university standards.
• Provide timely feedback and grades to students.
• Maintain office hours for student consultation.

Required profile

• PhD in English or a closely related field (preferred).
• Demonstrated success teaching English courses at the post‑secondary level.
• Current expertise in children’s literature.
